Do you get anxious at the dentist? Do you have trouble sleeping the night before or find yourself avoiding the dentist because of anxiety? Or do you just want peace of mind during a stressful dental procedure? We may be able to help. Green Lake Dental offers 3 types of sedation to include IV, pill or nitrous gas. Dr. Castleberry completed a strict program in order to offer his patients the peace of mind they need during dental treatment.

3 Levels of Sedation offered at Green Lake Dental (Dependent on Medical History):

Nitrous Oxide Gas:

Nitrous oxide is a gas that has been used in medicine since the late 18th century commonly referred to as “laughing gas”. Although it doesn’t cause everyone to laugh it is a relatively safe and effective way to relax you whether it’s for an entire dental procedure or just the process of getting numb. You simply breath the gas mixed with pure oxygen and it helps to relax you.

Oral sedation:

Oral sedation is where you are prescribed to take a pill sometimes for helping to sleep the night before and/or the morning of a procedure. This also can help relax a patient however the effects are less predictable. Some patients experience a higher level of sedation than others. You will need a driver to and from your appointment for this type of sedation.

IV Sedation:

IV sedation is where we place an IV to deliver drugs to control your level of sedation. The effects of this type of sedation are more predictable and adjusted to each patient’s needs. Although you are not completely asleep or unconscious, generally speaking you are very comfortable and some patient’s sleep through their dental procedures and most patients do not remember the procedure. If you feel that a level of sedation is right for you please come in today for a consultation and discover if sedation is your key to obtaining optimal oral health.

Sometimes teeth break down or get decay and need to be restored. We remove the decay from the tooth and leave a filing on the tooth to make it whole again. Filling materials vary but at Green Lake Dental we offer both white tooth colored (composite) fillings and traditional silver fillings. We discuss treatment options with you to best determine which one is right for you.

Are you not happy with your smile? Do you want your smile to shine? We can help you! We offer many different treatment options to give you the smile you’ve always wanted. Sometimes when you’re missing one or several teeth it can cause you to be embarrassed when you smile or change your quality of life. We want to change that. Dental implants have been around for over 25 years and the technology is never better than it is today. Green Lake Dental offers the best and most up-to-date in implant technology. A dental implant can replace one or many teeth by inserting a titanium appliance into the bone where it bonds for a long-term treatment option. After placement, an artificial tooth is attached to the top of the implant. This can restore your smile or chewing function and improve your overall quality of life. Currently research shows this to be the best and longest-term solution to missing teeth. Interested in dental implants and wondering if they’re right for you? Call Green Lake Dental today for a consultation.

Do you or your child have wisdom teeth that are painful or you’ve been told they need to be removed? Wisdom teeth or third molars are the furthest back teeth in your mouth that erupt as a teenager or into your mid to late twenties. Wisdom teeth don’t always have to be removed but many times they do because of pain, position or available space in your mouth. If you’re nervous about getting your wisdom teeth removed we offer 3 levels of sedation at Green Lake Dental to make your experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.

Sometimes teeth have been restored so many times, decayed or fractured and needs a full coverage restoration. This is called a crown or cap. Not only can this save your natural tooth from being removed but sometimes it can stretch the life of the natural tooth by decades.

In some cases when a tooth is missing we can replace it without having to place an implant. We use the teeth next to the missing tooth to anchor a fake tooth. In many cases it’s very difficult to know that you’re even missing a tooth even if it’s a missing front tooth.

Are you missing multiple teeth? Have you had to change the way you eat food because of missing teeth? We may be able to help you. Dentures are an affordable treatment option for those with multiple missing teeth. Many times, dentures can improve your ability to chew your food and improve your quality of life. Come in today to see what option is best to replace one or many missing teeth.

When a tooth has severe decay or after many fillings it can cause a toothache or you may not feel pain at all but the tooth is very unhealthy and needs treatment. In that case, root canals are a great treatment option. A root canal procedure removes the unhealthy part of the tooth and in most cases will get you out of pain. Root canals aren’t always needed but each tooth and circumstance are unique and this procedure can save your natural tooth for possibly years to come.

Cleanings are an absolute essential part of oral health. Brushing and flossing are great ways to keep your teeth healthy but even the cleanest mouths need a professional cleaning to remove stain and buildup that can lead to an unhealthy mouth. Our hygienists are incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and give you the tools to make sure you have the best oral health and whitest smile possible!

X-rays are a diagnostic tool used by the dentist to determine whether you have decay in between your teeth where many times a dentist cannot see by simply looking in your mouth. At Green Lake Dental we use high-tech digital x-rays to make sure you have the least amount of exposure to radiation possible. X-rays are not always a part of every exam and cleaning but in some instances, they are needed. Please feel free to ask our staff today why we do or don’t recommend x-rays.

Do you want a whiter smile? Are your teeth not as white as they used to be? We can help. Green Lake Dental offers a variety of teeth whitening treatments. Sometimes using whitening toothpaste or getting invasive teeth whitening procedures by non-dental professionals can cause damage to your teeth. Green Lake Dental strives to make your teeth whiter in a smart, effective and safe manner. Contact our office today to discover our options.
